Redmi 9A comes with a 6.53-inch HD+ Dot Drop display touchscreen with a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels with an aspect ratio of 20:9. The phone measures 164.90 x 77.07 x 9.0mm (height x width x thickness) and weighs 194 grams.

Redmi 9A is powered by the MediaTek Helio G25 chipset with Octa-core CPU and PowerVR8320 GPU. The phone is supported by 2GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage which can further be expandable via microSD cards. The Redmi 9A runs MIUI 11 based on Android 10.
